I'm sad to see you go. I hope whatever is bugging you IRL you will manage to overcome it and your mood will turn to the better. You have been very helpful throughout the 1.5 years, posted good pictures, worked a lot on the tags, created helpful howtos and screenshots for the users. I enjoyed Weeone's videos, your open approach to befriend anyone, posting IRL photos, your speaking honestly about whatever subject and I'm sure lots of people feel the same way. I do have some things that are bugging me though, and I hope you don't mind that I respond to them. [" I've been re-cast into some kind of evil boogieman to be hated on. "] The way I see it, there are thousands of visitors enjoying your images / occasionally giving you positive feedback every day, and about 3-4 people in chat who don't like you. Even your profile says 39 likes, 7 hates. If you ask me, that's a very good ratio on this site. Even the people who don't like you still don't go up all in your face about it, they just try to avoid a conversation the same way you do. I get the sense that your real problem is that you expect "the community" to not speak to them or even hate them to show their support for you. I understand that, I really do. But just because they don't, it doesn't mean they hate you. They just try to stay out of drama and probably wish you did, too. [" Where were my supposed friends during those 4 hours? "] Sleeping, driving, surfing Facebook, or whatever else. There's more than 4 hours of deadspace every day. I myself haven't even seen that topic. [" But apparently it's more important to have trolls, and drama queens, and channel sluts "] This one's for me I know, a group of people can't find something 'more important'. Translated, this means that you think that I prefer lily ('drama queens, channel sluts') and trolls ('trolls') over you. The reality is, I have no problem with lily myself (and that's not a preference), and trolls have always been kind-of-tolerated because to me freedom of speech IS important. Even when it sucks. You keep trying to make it look like something changed, but really it's you who's changed by wanting that policy to change because "you have been a member for so long", and "trying to create a community". I'm sorry but the policy will not change. As long as they don't ask for CP, flood the room or interrupt a convo with scrolling bullshit, they will not be kicked. Now let me respond to a few of the things you said to other people on chat (yes... more on that later, below): [" Like I said in my blog apparently trolls and such are more valued than ppl that actually contribute "] Just because I don't kick trolls doesn't mean I value them more than you. You're doing this "if you love me, you will cut your ear off" thing. I love you, but I'm not cutting my ear off. If you love me, you don't expect me to do that. [" he made the slut mod for christs sake.. with kick/ban powers in chat "] 1) Lily applied to be a mod, she scored good, and her tags were immaculate. It looks like she'll be a helpful asset. Problem? 2) "with kick/ban powers in chat". I'm not even gonna mention the fact that you told me to give lily the kick/ban powers, because it was probably sarcastic. But I AM mentioning the other fact that you were one of the people who requested that such a power should exist so the regular chatters (which includes lily, and about 6 other regulars including you) could do something about flooders when I'm not there. So I finally got around to adding that feature, and now that's the problem? It's still just for kicking spammers/flooders, and only after they were asked to stop, and I still get an e-mail when somebody uses the command. You know this too, yet you make it sound like I gave lily a unique permission to kick anyone she likes. The truth, again, is that most regular chatters now have this last resort option, you did as well (but then you deactivated yourself). [" I had talked with him before too .. threatened to quit before too and was talked down "] You didn't talk to me, you posted on your blog. There's a difference. You never bothered to msg on chat, drop me a mail, or anything. [" if you talk with him about it theres "nothing wrong" and its "just the usual" "] You have mentioned this quote of mine at least 10 times now. I said this when there were some anons going in and out saying random things, and you told me you didn't like it. It wasn't a flood, neither spam, neither asking for CP, that's why I said you shouldn't mind it. It really wasn't anything out of the ordinary as far as trolling goes. My response was regarding about that specific chat-screen at that specific moment, but you've been using and abusing this quote out of context eversince to justify your statements about this place "falling apart" with my blessing. Please, don't. [" I cant click any links cause I'm banned "] I saw some new user deleting a bunch of pictures (at least 10) from fresh mode. I did what I normally do in such a case, ban the user and the IP. It later turned out that the IP was yours, and the user was something you guys created (i wonder why...). This is also a good example of you trying to communicate with me. Creating a new account and going on a deletion rampage instead of telling me "hey, remove all the images in fresh mode I submitted before i decided to hate this place". It's almost as if you wanted me to ban you accidentally so you can brag about it (I guess you succeeded, Aval asked me "did you really ban Red?" - well no, I banned some random user that later turned out to be you). [" you do know that pms arent secure here right? that c4c (and I suspect other) can see the /msg? "] I wrote the chat, so how in the holy hell would I technically achieve not-being-able-to-see-pm's? Maybe if you all shared public/private encryption keys with each other and installed a chat software. But this is web-based so that isn't a real option (i doubt anyone would use it anyway). And no, you suspect wrong: nobody else has the ability to view PM's. Not even me, from the web. I have to connect to the database and make SQL queries. Here's a fun fact for you: Skype, Yahoo, MSN, Blackberry, Tinychat, and all the others can see PM's that users exchange between each other. Inb4 "but you are posting my pms here, so it's proof you are looking at them and even making them public": I noticed these comments (that I'm responding to now) when you asked me to investigate a chat issue yesterday. I had to actually go and browse the database with the chatlogs. Doing this helped me find out the root cause, you posting your SID in public accidentally, making others involuntarily impersonate you (it was nobody's fault, I'm just saying...). The reasons why I'm disclosing these quotes in public are: 1) You repeated these statements to a bunch of people, so it's almost the same as putting it into public. 2) You didn't bother to tell ME these things directly, instead you did it behind my back. 3) While investigating the SessionID issue, I bumped into these pm's, so pretending that I didn't see them would make no point, especially when there is plenty to respond to that is regarding my person. 4) I am not quoting anything you haven't already said in public or tried to keep a secret anyway. [" so basically whats happening is that lil84 and fart 33 are replacing weeone and I as mods "] Actual order of events: 1) weeone deactivates herself 2) lily passes the modtest successfully 3) you deactivate yourself. Fart33 never applied to be a mod, and nobody 'replaced' you. You decided to deactivate yourself. It was your choice, not mine. This is the way I see it: you decided to put me and everyone else in a "hate lily+fart, ban anons I don't like, or I am leaving" situation. I don't hate lily or fart, I'm not changing the policy on freedom of speech, and so you have left. Like I said before, all your hard work is still appreciated regardless of this drama at the end, and 3% of 20,000 images is quite a personal achievement. But from the site's perspective a 3% more or less image count isn't something that a lot of people will notice. Again, don't misunderstand me, I _DO_ notice it and I really appreciate it, I'm just saying don't be surprised if not everyone cares about those 3 percents that much. The biggest part of the work was tagging, and that's helping ME, not the other people on the site. Once again, I'm sad to see you go and I hope you find the right community, the one that meets your expectations. Kind regards, c4c
